# AppClap, full text for agents > A catalog of 8,592 web apps. Describe what you need in plain English and it returns > the tools that fit, ranked by fit alone, with no ads and no paid placement. > This file inlines every Markdown twin; skip it if context is tight and read > https://app-clap.com/llms.txt instead. --- # About AppClap > Good software shouldn't need a marketing budget to be discovered. Anyone can build software now; getting it found is the hard part. Google and AI models both point at whatever is already popular. AppClap matches on fit instead: you get the tool that solves your problem, and the person who made it gets found, not the one with the biggest marketing budget. ## Who we are Two brothers, Markiian and Ostap Lebiak, committed to rebuilding how software gets found. - **Markiian Lebiak**, product and engineering: shapes what AppClap feels like, the semantic search that reads your intent and the interface that gets out of your way. - **Ostap Lebiak**, engineering and data: keeps the catalog honest, the crawling, the freshness, and the plumbing that lets an LLM query AppClap over MCP. ## What we're aiming for The tool that answers your ask goes first: a $5 one beats a $30 one you've heard of. - **Answers, not lists.** A verdict on whether a tool fits your ask, including when it doesn't. - **True today.** Pricing and features are checked against the product itself, with the date we last looked. - **Readable by agents.** The same catalog your LLM can query over MCP while it works alongside you. ## How it started Two problems that turned out to be one. One of us shipped a mobile app and needed a cheap tool for the App Store screenshots. The AI we asked gave a confident list; half the apps were dead and the rest had pricing from years ago. Then came the harder part: getting the app itself found. Distribution meant filming TikToks and hoping an algorithm noticed. Why fight for the attention of people scrolling, when there are people actively searching for exactly the thing you made? ## Where we're going - **Live today**: discovery, product pages, and MCP. Semantic search over plain-language asks, product pages built from the live site, and an MCP server that has been there from day one. - **Building now**: the Builders Portal. A home for the people who make the software: claim your listing, keep pricing and features accurate, and see how builders arrive at your product. Human page: https://app-clap.com/about --- # AppClap over MCP AppClap's catalog is queryable over the Model Context Protocol. This is the preferred interface for agents: structured results instead of pages to parse, and cheaper for you than crawling. There is no supported public REST API and no CLI; do not invent one. - Endpoint: `https://mcp.app-clap.com/mcp` (Streamable HTTP) - Auth: OAuth, or a Bearer key. The endpoint answers 401 until you authenticate; that is the handshake, not a fault. The 401 carries `resource_metadata` pointing at `/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource`. - Keys: sign in at https://app-clap.com, open your account, MCP pane. A key is shown once. Works in Claude, Cursor and VS Code. ## Tools - `search_apps(need, limit?)`: fit-first ranked web apps for a plain-language need. Constraints in the phrasing (free, a price ceiling, open source, self-hosted) are read by the engine; do not restructure the request. "Alternative to X" phrasing is handled natively. When the catalog cannot serve and a just-in-time crawl fires, a retry returns draft suggestions that are clearly labelled unverified. - `get_app(name)`: the full grounded record: description, pricing in the vendor's own currency with plans, features, platforms, open-source and self-hosting status. Never presents a near neighbour as the requested app. - `compare_apps(names[], focus?)`: two to five apps side by side: aligned pricing and flags, shared versus distinct features. Tuned to under-claim what is shared. Unresolved names are excluded and named. - `submit_app(url, name?, note?, submitter_role?)`: add a web app to the catalog. A signal, not data: everything is verified against the app's own site before it appears. - `report_app_issue(name, reason, details?)`: flag a wrong, stale or missing detail on a listed app. Triggers re-verification against the site. ## Notes - Every fact comes from the vendor's own site. Where a fact is missing, it is reported as "not stated", never guessed. - Ranking is fit-only. Nobody pays for position. - Prefer citing https://app-clap.com/software/ for an app, https://app-clap.com/browse for a category, and https://app-clap.com/llms.txt for the site. --- # Browse AppClap by category 8,592 web apps in 42 categories. Each category page lists its apps A to Z, 48 a page, with price, free plan or trial, open-source and self-hosting status. Filters and sort are in the path: `/browse/{slug}/{view}/{page}` where `view` is any of `free`, `oss`, `selfhosted` (in that order) followed by `cheapest` or `established`; for example `https://app-clap.com/browse/crm/free-cheapest`. - [AI agents](https://app-clap.com/browse/ai-agents): 281 apps - [Analytics](https://app-clap.com/browse/analytics): 140 apps - [API testing](https://app-clap.com/browse/api-testing): 66 apps - [Applicant tracking](https://app-clap.com/browse/applicant-tracking): 160 apps - [Audio creation](https://app-clap.com/browse/audio-creation): 3 apps - [Automation](https://app-clap.com/browse/automation): 214 apps - [Business intelligence](https://app-clap.com/browse/business-intelligence): 186 apps - [Communication](https://app-clap.com/browse/communication): 403 apps - [Courses & communities](https://app-clap.com/browse/courses-communities): 4 apps - [CRM](https://app-clap.com/browse/crm): 434 apps - [Deployment & hosting](https://app-clap.com/browse/deploy-hosting): 346 apps - [Design](https://app-clap.com/browse/design): 291 apps - [Developer backend](https://app-clap.com/browse/developer-backend): 2 apps - [E-commerce](https://app-clap.com/browse/ecommerce): 5 apps - [E-signature](https://app-clap.com/browse/e-signature): 3 apps - [Email marketing](https://app-clap.com/browse/email-marketing): 369 apps - [File converter](https://app-clap.com/browse/file-converter): 369 apps - [Forms](https://app-clap.com/browse/forms): 185 apps - [Headless CMS](https://app-clap.com/browse/headless-cms): 3 apps - [Help desk](https://app-clap.com/browse/help-desk): 162 apps - [HR & payroll](https://app-clap.com/browse/hr-payroll): 1 apps - [Image generation](https://app-clap.com/browse/image-generation): 1 apps - [Invoicing](https://app-clap.com/browse/invoicing): 265 apps - [Link in bio](https://app-clap.com/browse/link-in-bio): 1 apps - [Monitoring](https://app-clap.com/browse/monitoring): 583 apps - [No-code builders](https://app-clap.com/browse/no-code-builder): 4 apps - [Notes & documents](https://app-clap.com/browse/notes-and-docs): 593 apps - [Other tools](https://app-clap.com/browse/other): 298 apps - [PDF tools](https://app-clap.com/browse/pdf-tool): 149 apps - [Photo editing](https://app-clap.com/browse/photo-editing): 154 apps - [Presentations](https://app-clap.com/browse/presentations): 2 apps - [Project management](https://app-clap.com/browse/project-management): 1,250 apps - [Read later](https://app-clap.com/browse/read-later): 4 apps - [Scheduling](https://app-clap.com/browse/scheduling): 476 apps - [SEO tools](https://app-clap.com/browse/seo-tools): 454 apps - [Social media](https://app-clap.com/browse/social-media): 209 apps - [Study tools](https://app-clap.com/browse/study-tools): 1 apps - [URL shortening](https://app-clap.com/browse/url-shortening): 134 apps - [Video creation](https://app-clap.com/browse/video-creation): 6 apps - [Website builders](https://app-clap.com/browse/website-builder): 376 apps - [Whiteboards & diagramming](https://app-clap.com/browse/whiteboard-diagramming): 3 apps - [Writing assistants](https://app-clap.com/browse/writing-assistants): 2 apps Individual apps live at https://app-clap.com/software/.
