BKChem is a free software chemical drawing program written in Python, allowing bond-by-bond drawing of chemical structures with templates, linear formulas, radicals, and charges. It supports editing features like undo/redo, alignment, scaling, and 2D/3D rotation, plus import/export to formats such as SVG, PDF, PNG, CML, Molfiles, SMILES, and InChI. It is platform-independent due to being written in Python and has been used on GNU/Linux, WinXP, and MacOS X.
