ClipCite is a Chrome and Microsoft Edge browser extension that clips any web page, or just a selected passage, into clean Markdown along with an automatically generated citation (BibTeX or APA). Clips can be sent to the clipboard, a .md file, Notion, or an Obsidian vault. It reads page metadata (and queries Crossref when a DOI is present) to build citations, and it is local-first, storing all data in the browser with no ClipCite-operated server.
