Heptapod is a hosted forge that combines GitLab Core project-management and Git hosting with native Mercurial repository support. It offers merge requests, issue tracking, milestones, boards, CI/CD runners, a container registry, and GitLab Pages for static site hosting, accessible via HTTPS, SSH, or a web UI. Billing is activity-based, charging only for users active on repositories rather than a flat seat count.

Prices are stated in EUR, not USD. Billing combines user-based charges (€7/month per active private user, or €7/month per 100 active public users) with resource-based charges for storage and outgoing traffic beyond free thresholds. New Clever Cloud accounts get a €20 free credit. Large open source projects can get free hosting via a separate site (foss.heptapod.net). Educational institutions are invited to contact the team directly to discuss needs.
