Kavya
A local-first writing app for people who think in Markdown.·kavya-app.com
Kavya is a local-first Markdown writing app for macOS in which every note is a plain .md file stored inside a folder-based vault, with no database and no cloud lock-in. It offers a three-panel library/sheets/editor layout, nested groups that mirror real folders on disk, YAML-frontmatter tagging, and wikilinks between notes. It includes writing aids such as focus, typewriter, and zen modes, split view, writing goals, and multi-model AI chat (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Claude Code CLI). Users can export to Markdown, HTML, PDF, or DOCX, and plan work with a kanban-style Schedule Board and calendar view.
