Kontalk Messenger
Community-driven Instant Messaging Network·kontalk.org
Kontalk is an instant messaging network run by a community of volunteers who host servers and split costs among themselves. Messages are encrypted end-to-end, with both client-to-server and server-to-server channels encrypted so servers cannot decrypt content. It identifies users by their phone number rather than usernames, and is built on the XMPP standard for interoperability. All client and server software is open source and hosted on GitHub.
