Lithic is a portability-first outliner knowledgebase tailored for modern academic and engineering workflows. It lets users create and mount 'liths' (outline documents) from local disk or HTML files, connect to a self-hosted remote instance, and sync content via a GitHub Sync app. It supports a read-only offline mode where changes are saved as local HTML downloads when a server is unavailable, and it does not support real-time collaboration, relying instead on last-write-wins conflict handling.
