Nagios Core is a free, open source IT infrastructure monitoring engine that monitors servers, networks, applications, and services to detect and alert on problems before they cause downtime. It uses a server-agent architecture with a scheduler, plugins, and a web interface, and supports thousands of community plugins and add-ons. The platform has been in development for over 25 years and is used by more than 1 million users worldwide. Nagios Enterprises also offers a commercial upgrade path (Nagios CSP / Nagios XI) with enterprise dashboards and support.
