Org mode is a GNU Emacs major mode for keeping notes, authoring documents, computational notebooks, literate programming, maintaining to-do lists, and planning projects, all in a plain text file format. It provides structured/foldable outlining, a built-in table editor with spreadsheet-like formulas, task management with TODO states, agenda views, time clocking, capture templates, and export/publishing to formats such as HTML, LaTeX, and ODT. It was created by Carsten Dominik in 2003 and is maintained by Ihor Radchenko and developed by many contributors.
