Ubuntu Server is the server edition of the Ubuntu Linux operating system, published by Canonical, used for enterprise servers, cloud, data centers, and edge deployments. It is released on a regular six-month cadence with Long Term Support (LTS) versions every two years that receive years of security maintenance. Optional Ubuntu Pro subscriptions add expanded security maintenance, kernel live patching, compliance hardening (FIPS, CIS, DISA-STIG), and enterprise support on top of the free base OS.
