VirtEngine

The open-source decentralized cloud marketplace protocol·virtengine.com

Visit

VirtEngine is an open-source, patented decentralized cloud computing marketplace protocol that connects tenants who need computing resources with providers who have capacity to lease, through a transparent on-chain marketplace with built-in identity, escrow, and settlement. It is built on CometBFT and the Cosmos SDK, and coordinates orders, bids, and leases as chain state rather than through a trusted intermediary. Waldur serves as its connected marketplace and service-management layer, presenting a self-service catalogue that can route fulfilment to Kubernetes, HPC schedulers, or provider-defined integrations. Identity verification is handled by the VEID module, which scores encrypted identity evidence by validator consensus and lets users disclose facts via zero-knowledge proofs.

Features 15

  • 27 documented on-chain modules organized around the marketplace core
  • Confidential compute via enclave attestation and public-key encryption
  • Escrow-backed leases with a 24-hour dispute window before settlement
  • GPU compute capacity marketplace
  • HPC workload support via SLURM, MOAB, and Open OnDemand clusters
  • Kubernetes as a delivery target for workload fulfilment
  • On-chain marketplace with orders, competing bids, and leases as chain state
  • On-chain multi-factor authentication (x/mfa) for sensitive account operations
  • On-chain provider audits, benchmarks, and reviews
  • Provider daemons that watch the chain and place competing bids on behalf of providers
  • Settlement module converts metered usage into billable line items with no marketplace commission
  • Validator staking and network participation
  • VEID privacy-preserving identity layer scoring encrypted identity evidence via validator consensus
  • Waldur-connected self-service catalogue for cloud capacity and fully custom provider offerings
  • Zero-knowledge identity disclosure (e.g. age range, residency) without revealing documents or scores
