VirtEngine is an open-source, patented decentralized cloud computing marketplace protocol that connects tenants who need computing resources with providers who have capacity to lease, through a transparent on-chain marketplace with built-in identity, escrow, and settlement. It is built on CometBFT and the Cosmos SDK, and coordinates orders, bids, and leases as chain state rather than through a trusted intermediary. Waldur serves as its connected marketplace and service-management layer, presenting a self-service catalogue that can route fulfilment to Kubernetes, HPC schedulers, or provider-defined integrations. Identity verification is handled by the VEID module, which scores encrypted identity evidence by validator consensus and lets users disclose facts via zero-knowledge proofs.
