Visit

Almond Monitor is a lightweight, extensible monitoring solution that uses Nagios plugins to collect data from servers, applications and containers. It consists of two services, 'almond' (a scheduler that runs Nagios plugins) and 'howru' (which publishes the collected data as HTML, JSON, or Prometheus metrics and can proxy data from multiple units). It exposes JSON APIs, OTEL/Prometheus metrics, and an inbuilt Kafka producer for integration with other monitoring platforms.

What it's for

Monitoring servers, applications and containers using Nagios pluginsReplacing nrpe or NCPA for plugin executionMonitoring Docker containers as if they were ordinary servers via the howru proxyActing as a Prometheus exporter for applications lacking a good exporterSending monitoring data to Kafka topics for future prediction or data plottingBuilding custom monitoring scripts or integrations via the JSON APIIntegrating Docker containers into a Nagios monitoring GUI
