Consul is a macOS menu bar app that automatically converts files when you change their file extension (e.g. renaming a .heic to .jpg instantly converts it). It inspects actual file contents for smart format detection and supports images, audio, video, documents, spreadsheets, archives, e-books, fonts, 3D models, subtitles, and config files. All conversions happen locally on the Mac using native, hardware-accelerated APIs, with no cloud upload required.
