Jot is a macOS menu bar app that lets users capture a thought instantly by pressing a global hotkey (⌥ Space) from anywhere. Typed entries are saved to a searchable local log stored as plain JSON on the Mac, with no account or server involved. Users can search past captures, copy them to the clipboard, and export the whole log to Markdown.
