SimpleX Chat is a decentralized, end-to-end encrypted messaging app that uses no user identifiers of any kind, not even random ones, to protect the privacy of contacts and metadata. Users connect via one-time links or QR codes instead of usernames, phone numbers, or public keys. It supports encrypted text messages, voice messages, files, images, video, disappearing messages, and audio/video calls, with all data stored locally on the user's device. The network is decentralized and open, allowing anyone to run their own servers, and the project is open source.
