NINA is a project that recreates the original AIM (AOL Instant Messenger), Classic AOL, and ICQ platforms as closely as possible to the originals, while documenting the process. It runs custom servers compatible with original clients and software rather than providing access to the original online services or data. Currently AIM and ICQ are freely available, while Classic AOL support (AOL 4.0 and 5.0) is in alpha and requires request or donation. A related service, Q-Link (the Commodore 64 precursor to AOL), is planned for future support.
