The UCSC Genome Browser is a web-based tool that provides rapid, interactive visualization of any requested portion of a genome at any scale, together with dozens of aligned annotation tracks such as known genes, predicted genes, ESTs, mRNAs, CpG islands, and chromosomal bands. It supports multiple species and assemblies (including human GRCh38/hg38, GRCh37/hg19, T2T-CHM13/hs1, and mouse assemblies) and lets users add their own custom tracks or track hubs for research or educational purposes. Companion tools include BLAT and In-Silico PCR for sequence alignment, the Table Browser for downloading and filtering data, LiftOver for converting coordinates between assemblies, and a REST API for programmatic access.
